You may remember back in 2023, I had the privilege of travelling to Queen Maud Land in Antarctica to perform a unique short bike expedition. It was the final in a series of performing a preparatory expedition for Breaking the Cycle South Pole on all seven continents.
The opportunity came together pretty quickly and I only had eight days to pull everything together and fly to Cape Town, then due south to White Desert’s Wolf’s Fang Camp in Queen Maud Land. Subsequently, I had to film the expedition myself with some help from my guide.
The result is a gritty little 24-minute film that I am pretty proud to announce has been selected for this year’s Women’s Adventure Film Tour – 27 events around Australia in September and October (maybe NZ, UK, Europe and North America later, but unsure yet whether it will screened in these countries).

This is what Adventure Entertainment wrote about my film…
“Some adventures are measured in distance. Others are measured in determination.
In Journey Across Queen Maud Land on a Bike, Kate Leeming takes on Antarctica’s remote frozen landscape, facing brutal winds, whiteout conditions and the kind of challenge that demands everything.
A powerful story of courage, resilience and pushing forward, even when the path ahead disappears.”
I will be appearing in Melbourne at the Lido, Hawthorn, on 10th September and in Perth at the Luna, Leederville, on 17th September. Tickets are selling fast, so please book in advance.

PS – I will be signing/selling my books, OUT THERE & BACK and NJINGA, BREAKING THE CYCLE IN AFRICA in Melbourne and Perth.
